James scored six points from his first three rides at Sheffield before the meeting was abandoned after heat 12. The result stands and so he qualifies for the final at Wolverhampton on 14th June.
James won the belated 2009 Scottish Open at Edinburgh. After a slow start, James had four straight wins, including the final to finish ahead of Ryan Fisher and Andre Compton.
